Standing up Naked, I take a stand against, The Death Penalty
Fewer things bring attention from the press more than Murder; it causes chills to run up and down the spine. Something as heinous as taking someones life. It will bring us to our knees, knowing that someone has died or is going to die soon. Premeditation adds to the picture, a kind of feeling that, how could we do this. To actually schedule the date and the time of the day that someone is going to die. Capital punishment is just that, Murder with premeditation. We the people do this with our state and the United States Government actually approving of The Death Penalty.
My son Michael, who is 43yrs old, the state of California plans on killing him on date unknown in the San Quentin State Prisons', death chamber by lethal injection. Think of this like going to see a show, the stage is set. People are actually invited to witness these executions, chairs arraigned so everyone can get a good view of the execution. "Hey guess what? we get to kill somebody today". A press release will be issued telling about why he is going to die, all about what terrible things he allegedly did to justify the actions of the State of California in this execution.
Does all this really help the family of the person he allegedly had a hand in murdering. It's a claim that this will even it up, she died, so now he dies. "An Eye for an Eye". I don't think so, Michael was in love with this young women, we were all together the morning of her murder, we were in my house. In my drive way, they were hugging, kissing and talking about the events that were to follow that afternoon, we had a BBQ planned. Michael's 11 yr old son was there and had talked about going with her to Wal-Mart and run some errands. It was the 11yr olds' decision not to go with her. Later on that day, around 1PM she was Murdered.
The rest is history, the trial, the sentencing, The Death Penalty, and now we all wait, us, her family, her Grandparents who raised her, wait, time is a demon like no other, emotions run high. The clock is ticking and ticking. Its been almost 10 yrs now and the first appeal doesn't have a start date, however, my son Michael does have a date with the executioner, who is also waiting.
